Rent Soundtrack Launch Project
This was a project done for class. The main purpose was to use flash animation to animate and portray the songs lyrics. The song 'Seasons of Love' is the soundtrack of the movie 'Rent' which released to public during 2005. The lyrics of the song said, One year has five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes, that is five hundred twenty-five thousand moments of love. How do you measure a year, measure a year of love.
The song is about life, acceptance, perseverance, love, and taking a moment to close your eyes, breathe and remember that you are alive. I read the lyrics more than 100 times, and the feeling of love touched the bottom of my heart. I created a fake storyline to accommodate the lyrics of the song.
The story line is a young man who was living in Atlanta, broke up with his long-time girlfriend, which lead too loneliness for more than a year. The city of Atlanta had a lot of love memories for him, and he was scared to live in the city any longer. He packed his suitcase and drove his old sedan to Orlando, Florida. As he was driving, he saw a girl who was waiting for a ride on the side of the highway when he was 25 miles away to Orlando. He stopped his car and picked her up. They found out that they had a lot of things in common during the drive to Orlando. He quickly fell in love. They continued dating for the next six months, eventually married, and lived happily ever after. The guy ended up writing a book about his love story, and created a short movie of their love story. He decided that he wanted the whole world to know so he posted it on YouTube. The video quickly reached more than 1 million views, and became the most popular video all time on YouTube. To this day the video is still being searched and the views keeps on rising.
