Boogie bot Launch Project
Boogie bot is a desktop music player. The boogie bot designed by Leah Harlee, developed by Leah Harlee and Matt Ma, coded by Matt Ma in adobe flash application with actionscript 3.0 scripting logic. The concept of the boogie bot is that the robot is never tired to play music for the listeners. Whenever you want to send him the music, he will just play and play. He will forget about the food, not worry about mowing his lawn or cleaning his house, and play the music all day long.
Boogie bot is a music player with xml playlist and it has all the features like other music application. They all function the same way. But the different between the boogie bot and all other music players are that the boogie bot has characteristic like a person. When the mouse rollover the bot's head, he will show you the music player setting, and you could change the outfits of the boogie bot to whatever the color combination you like. When the mouse roll over bot's ear, it will higher or lower the volume, bot's eye is randomly animated rotation and scaled at the same time. Bot's mouth is singing along the song when the song plays. If the mouse click on the mouth, that is to tell boogie bot to shut up and it will mute the player. When the mouse rollover the album cover, it will show play or pause button to control the player just as you imagine. The music player will calculate how long the song is and how many minutes has been lapsed. The hidden feature is the enlarge button, when clicked, it will set the music player to full screen mode. All the functionality leave still intact. In the future, I want to take this project to the higher level which is making it a real desktop music player or online music application, so the user could drag and drop the songs into the boogie bot’s body and he will play the music for the users.
