Beijing Poster

This was a school project. The main purpose was to use a series of posters to attract the potential travelers to go to the city of your choice. I chose to promote the city of Beijing, China in this project.

The city of Beijing has a long and rich history that dates back over 3,000 years. Beijing is also one of the four ancient cities of China (together with Xian, Luoyang, Nanjing), the best preserved, and famous city around the world. Beijing is also known as a cradle of humanity.

Beijing became People Republic of China’s capital all the way back to Qin Dynasty up to present day. What’s more interesting and inspiring is that much of this splendid history has been preserved and open for public viewing and touring. Historical attractions such as the Temple of Heaven (an imperial sacrificial altar), Tian An Men (in the center of bejing, the signature building), the Grandeur of the Great Wall of China are wondrous sights to behold and to be part of.

I created the tagline “Feel the history of Beijing, China” for the promotion. Chinese people consider themselves as a son of the dragon so that I created a dragon logo wrapped around with the great wall sealed underneath the tagline. The name of the historical attraction is in light yellow color with red outer glow. Three different shapes and drawing in three different technique of the dragon is interesting layout in the poster. The main color scheme is yellow and red because those are the two colors of the Chinese national flag. I am trying to deliver the idea to the potential travelers to visit and experience this, its something that they will remember for a lifetime.
